It's Falling

Autumn is more appropriately named "Fall"
Looking out my late October window
I see falling rain
Falling leaves and fallen acorns
All in keeping with the fallen temperatures
On the ground outside my door
I can either pick them up
Or trip them over
The Black Walnuts that have fallen there
Knowing that only a few days ago
They resided in the tops of the trees
Green and rotting, hand staining hulls
With a fragrance like no other
Your sweet insides become
Even more tempting as they dry
Fatty morsels you will be eaten
By me or by the squirrels
As each of us are falling one over the other
To gather your taste tempters, first
